Color of the Month: Lafayette Blue

Color of the Month is back! This month's color celebrates America as part of The Williamsburg® Color Collection from Benjamin Moore. Lafayette Blue CW-610 pays tribute to America's favorite fighting Frenchmen, Marquis de Lafayette, who was a revolutionary in both the early United States and in his home country of France. Taking part in the American Revolution in 1776, The french Revolution in 1789 and the "July" Revolution in France of 1830 and was close friend to George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, & Thomas Jefferson.

The Williamsburg® Color Collection consists of 144 colors that fuse Revolutionary design with Revolutionary paint, bringing Traditional style to Contemporary living. With color names like Tavern Ochre CW-375, Revolutionary Storm CW-155, & Lafayette Blue CW-60 Benjamin Moore really captures the spirit of America through color

"Known examples of 18th century paint guided the creation of Lafayette blue, a shade created by Colonial Williamsburg's Historic Resources staff using a hand-ground mix of period-authentic blue and white pigments." - Benjamin Moore's website

To bring out the full richness of Lafayette Blue CW-60 Benjamin Moore's Aura is the best option. Aura features Color Lock technology meaning your paint wont fade over time or with regular washing. It stays bright and true as the day it was rolled onto your walls. It comes in 4 finishes; matte, eggshell, satin, & semi gloss. I'll cover choosing the right sheens in an upcoming post.

Lafayette Blue CW-60 stuns in any room especially when paired with a slightly off white like Chantilly Lace OC-65 pictured above.
